On April 23, 2013 Walker County unveiled and dedicated the Walker County Crime Victim’s Memorial Fountain, the first of its kind, located in the center of the Courthouse Square in downtown Jasper, Alabama. The fountain was established after District Attorney Bill Adair, Jr. met with victims in April 2011 shortly after taking office. The victims’ families expressed and interest in a memorial and the District Attorney along with several of these families worked for two years to get approval from local government entities and to fund and construct this fountain themselves.
