Justice Isn't Served Until Crime Victims Are

Attorney General Troy King and District Attorney Doug ValeskaEach year OVC helps lead communities across the country in their observances of National Crime Victims' Rights Week (NCVRW). The annual commemoration promotes victims' rights and services in all sectors of our society. This year's ceremony marks the 25th observance of National Crime Victims' Rights Week, first proclaimed by President Reagan in 1981.

To commemorate National Crime Victims Rights Week, candlelight vigils will be held across the state:

Sunday - April 18th 3 p.m.:: Dothan, Alabama 3012 West Main Street 1st Presbyterian Church.

Monday - April 19th 7 p.m.: Columbiana, Alabama 210 North Main Street (across from the courthouse).

Tuesday - April 20th 7 p.m.: Florence, Alabama at Wilson Park.

Wednesday: No vigils due to church services

Thursday - April 22nd 7 p.m.: Birmingham, Alabama The jury assembly room on the 2nd floor of the parking deck across from the Jefferson County Courthouse..

Friday: April 23rd 7 pm: Statewide Vigil Montgomery, Alabama In front of the Attorney General's Office, 500 Dexter Avenue.
